Integrated solution will simplify system administration, identify new business opportunities and introduce new e-commerce functionality.
Fife-based Prime Industrial & Janitorial Supplies has chosen to upgrade to Trader Online, MAM Software’s cloud-hosted business management application for distributors and merchants, in order to support the company’s continued growth.
Established in 2007, Prime is a growing independent supplier of cleaning materials, catering disposables, hygiene supplies and industrial products. The company is a member of Jangro, a network of independent janitorial distributors in the UK and Ireland.
After using an on-premise version of Trader since 2013, Prime has decided to move its business management software to the cloud and utilise Trader Online’s additional business analytics module and integrated B2C e-commerce website.
“For us, Trader is a tried and tested system,” explains Louise Rouse, finance director at Prime Industrial & Janitorial Supplies.
“We have used Trader for many years and always found it to be advanced compared to other software solutions. We chose to upgrade to Trader Online because it will mean that we can save time and money by cutting out the need to maintain complex server hardware.”
“We’re also taking on board other MAM solutions that integrate with Trader Online such as business analytics and a retail website. Bringing these key functions together will help us continue to grow the business and save a lot of time not having to work between separate solutions.”
Trader Online is the cloud hosted version of MAM’s business management application for merchants and distributors. Hosted in a state-of-the-art data centre, the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) approach will allow Prime to enjoy the same advanced functionality as MAM’s on-premise software without the need to maintain costly on-site servers.
As well as upgrading to the cloud, Prime will be utilising additional modules for Trader Online including Phocas Business Intelligence, an analytics solution that allows users to gain deeper insights into sales and company data.
“We’re looking forward to taking advantage of the advanced analytics functionality in Phocas. The tool will help us gain a deeper understanding of our customer’s buying habits, which will lead to us identifying lost sales and lifting the lid on potential new business.”
Produced by MAM partner Phocas Software, Phocas Business Intelligence will help Prime make more informed decisions. The module visualises key performance data in a range of charts, graphs and tables that will enable Prime identify sales trends and increase profit margins.
Prime will also be introducing a new website using Origin WebRetail, MAM’s B2C e-commerce solution.
When speaking about the company’s requirements for an e-commerce solution, Louise said: “We wanted to revamp our website with a robust package that works well with our software and requires less man-hours to maintain.”
WebRetail is a web package built by Origin Software Solutions, an MAM-owned e-commerce provider, that directly integrates with Trader to simplify online trading. The package is available in a range of out-of-the-box or as a bespoke solutions tailored to fit a business’s unique needs.
